Asked Questions

  • First and foremost, we hope you find our pieces as stunning as we do. It truly is wearable art.

Like any other impressive skill, tie-dying is a competency where it takes a significant amount of time to gain proficiency. It’s expensive and extremely time consuming to produce works like ours. We make wonderfully vibrant and unique products, and care deeply about the work we create.

We owe tons of gratitude to the traditional shibori masters of old, as well as more current legends like Paul Kenney and others, and believe our personal touches and aesthetic differences make our pieces stand out on a level of their own.

We’re excited to pass these pieces on to you and our sincerest hope is that you’ll be able to enjoy them for many years to come.

  • Yes, you sure will! Each piece is hand made and one of a kind, and the images shown are of the exact piece you will receive after purchase.

  • Hopefully yes… but unfortunately there’s just no way to control for all of the variability in the different screens and monitors viewers use, and therefore it’s possible the colors may look slightly off in real life from the images on screen.

The images shown have been only slightly adjusted to correct for white balance and exposure coming directly out of the camera, and are to the best of our abilities color accurate. The product images shown are intended to represent the pieces exactly as they should appear in person; however, sadly there’s simply no way to guarantee each piece will look exactly the same to your eye.

  • All items have been washed twice in hot-warm water to release any unbonded dye from the fabric. However, if you plan to wash your dye in warm or hot water with other garments, then please run a cycle or two with with just your dye alone first to be safe. After that, you can expect your dye to be color safe and not run.

If you regularly wash in cold water only, then you have nothing to worry about and your dyes are color safe from day one. Enjoy.

  • Unfortunately all organic materials like cotton will break down and degrade over time, but the good news is that with the proper care, your 2nd Show Dye can stay vibrant and last for many years to come. Check out our Product Care page to learn more.
